
On the afternoon of December 22nd, 2024, IWCA Vietnam successfully organized a workshop titled “Ecotourism Training for Female Coffee Farmers” in Mai Son district, Son La province. With the area’s excellent location for coffee cultivation and the advantage of having a unique local culture, Mai Son has grand potential for developing eco-tourism and community-based tourism. Therefore, this training event was organized to help residents develop the region’s economic and tourism sectors.

15 students, all female coffee farmers from the local area, participated in the workshop, while simultaneously representing many prominent agricultural production households in the region.
As the training expert, Dr. Dang Trung Kien, a lecturer at Northwest University, conveyed the knowledge and skills necessary for the women to confidently engage in the role of ecotourism guides in the future.

This workshop will open up opportunities for the sustainable development of eco-tourism, thereby enhancing income and living standards for the farmers in Chieng Ban and the northwest region of Vietnam.
